Quality or Lack of It
Quality Control is Essential
Worrying about the quality of your flooring project is not unusual...
The improper execution of a wood flooring project is one that very often stays on the back of your mind during the entire period of the project and, often, even long after it's been completed.
The reasons for this are many, and most of the times you are right in asking yourself these types of questions.
The reality of it is that many contractors out there simply don't know how to properly execute a flooring project.
Others might know, but the temptation of saving couple hundred dollars on the overall project is strong enough to make them rush into finishing quick, buying cheap materials or skip steps that you are not aware of.
We understand your worries and took steps to offer you piece of mind in this direction as well.
The reasons for poor executed projects are usually few and if you address them from the beginning you can easily eliminate the problems you might encounter later on.
Here They Are...
Proper Communication is the Key• Lack of Communication
Not understanding one's needs and expectations is often part of the reason why problems appear late in the project.
We will always discuss all the aspects of the flooring project with you, show you the options available to you and explain the pros and cons of every single one of them.
We won't move forward until we are all on the same page.
• The Moisture Issue.
Not all type of floors are suitable for every home. Wood is a live material that reacts to moisture or lack thereof by shrinking or expanding.
Some types of flooring react more than others which is why is very important to choose one that will fit the environment of your home.
The moisture levels in your house along with the moisture of the floor are all important factors in the success of your flooring project. We will discuss this aspects with you, take readings and make suggestions on what type of floor will best suite your home and why.
Moisture Check is Very Important• The Acclimatization Factor.
Acclimatization of the floor prior to the beginning of the project is very important in order to avoid problems later.
This is why, when installing a new floor it is our policy to deliver the floor at least 5 days prior to the installation.
By taking this step we will ensure that the floors will be completely acclimated to the environment of your home avoiding any excessive shrinkage or expansion later on.
• The Execution of the Project.
Whether is floor sanding or floor installation, the execution of the project in a manner that will fit your needs and your home is very important.
The method of installation, the type of glue used or the type of staples, what finish and what stain color are going to be used are all decisive factors for a successful hardwood flooring project.
Too many companies have standard steps to follow in order to complete a project forgetting that every house is different and that every homeowner needs are different.
Our approach, while including some standard steps, focuses on you and your house.
We will always make sure that every single step we take is customized to ensure the best performance and the best quality for your floor and your house.
